Magic Kingdom at a glance
Magic Kingdom is one of the four theme parks at Walt Disney World near Orlando. You enter along Main Street, U.S.A., and the Cinderella Castle stands at the far end of it. This is an independent guide with no connection to the park operator, so confirm tickets, hours and prices with the operator or an authorized seller.

Rides and shows to know
These attractions are listed on the current park page. Attractions close for maintenance from time to time, so check the app on the day.
TRON Lightcycle / Run
Listed on the current park page. Popular rides are the first to build queues, so plan them for the morning or use a Lightning Lane selection.
Tiana's Bayou Adventure
Listed on the current park page and a good candidate for an early Lightning Lane window if you want to avoid a long wait.
Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion
Both are listed on the current park page. Check the app for the day's wait before you walk over.
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
The current park page describes the ride with new hand blasters and interactive targets.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Reopened on 3 May 2026 after a rebuild, so the version you ride now is not the one from older trip reports.
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away
The evening parade. It was announced for 20 July 2025 and is listed as a current offering. Do not assume it runs every night, and check the schedule for your date.

Tickets and getting in
Magic Kingdom has no single yearly price. Admission depends on the date and on the ticket type, and the general start price shown for the resort is $119 for guests aged 10 and up, before tax, in 2026. A base ticket covers one theme park per day. A Park Hopper ticket lets you visit more than one park on the same day. Children aged 3 to 9 buy the child ticket, and children under 3 do not need one. The operator's reservation page says that dated one-day and multi-day tickets do not need a separate park reservation. Other ticket types can still require one, so check the detail page of your ticket.
Eligible hotel guests get Early Entry 30 minutes before opening. On 19 October 2026 the listed hours were 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., with Early Entry from 8:30 a.m. That is a dated example, not a seasonal rule, and hours change through the year.
Halloween and Christmas parties
Two seasonal evening events are sold separately. A regular day ticket does not include them.

A sold-out party does not mean the whole park is closed. If you plan a day visit on a party date, check the listed hours for that day.
Parking and the walk to the gate
Standard parking costs $35 per day in 2026, and Preferred parking costs $50, $55 or $60. Registered guests of the Disney resort hotels park for free in the standard theme park areas. The tram from the parking lot ends at the Ticket and Transportation Center, which is not the park entrance. You need another connection from there to the gate, so add that time to your morning plan. A precise total travel time is not published.
Hotel buses run from 45 minutes before the park opens until 1 hour after it closes. More about the transport network is in our getting around guide.

Summer is hot and wet, and November has the lowest normal rainfall of the year. That says nothing about crowds on a given day. Our best time to visit guide adds holidays, school breaks and park closures.

What are the opening hours of Magic Kingdom?
Hours change by date. The calendar listed 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. for 19 October 2026, with Early Entry from 8:30 a.m. Check the calendar for your own dates.
Is Big Thunder Mountain open?
It reopened on 3 May 2026 after a rebuild. As with any ride, short closures for maintenance can happen.
Is the Halloween party included in my ticket?
No. The Halloween party is a separate ticketed event and is sold out for this year. The Christmas party on select evenings from 8 November to 22 December 2026 also needs its own ticket.
Do I need a park reservation for Magic Kingdom?
For dated one-day and multi-day tickets, the operator's reservation page says no separate reservation is needed. Other ticket types such as annual passes can require one.
Can I walk straight from the parking lot to the entrance?
No. The parking tram ends at the Ticket and Transportation Center, and you need another connection to the park entrance. Plan extra time in the morning.
Is there a Skyliner to Magic Kingdom?
